Embark Down the “Road to Salivation”
During Fredericksburg’s Annual Restaurant Week

Edible event highlights city’s finest restaurants and culinary delights

Experience the timeless taste of Fredericksburg. Enjoy fresh local ingredients, light sauces, and fresh-made daily pasta at one of the Top 10 “farm to table” restaurants in the United States. Savor a great Virginia wine at an eclectic wine bar situated in an historical downtown area. Sip a sudsy ale as you soak in the history all around you. Enjoy all the flavors that the Fredericksburg area has to offer.

From January 22-31, the city of Fredericksburg will host its 4th annual Restaurant Week: The Road to Salivation. During the week, indulge on three-course prix fixe meals from some of the city’s finest restaurants. Lunches are just $10.08 and dinners are only $20.08. Chefs will feature special menus to showcase their house specialties. Participating restaurants include: Claiborne’s, Bistro Bethem, Poppy Hill Tuscan Kitchen, kybecca Wine Bar, Capital Ale House, Kenmore Inn and Caroline Street Cafe. Fredericksburg’s charming historical district boasts more than 40 chef-owned restaurants.

Delight in sheer gastronomical bliss as you sample some of Fredericksburg’s best dishes. Slow braised beef short ribs with a grapefruit and fennel slaw and fingerling potatoes. Sauté of jumbo shrimp over lobster-enriched fried polenta. Mahi filet with herbed risotto. Belgian chocolate Profiterole with Dulce de Leche ice cream. In Fredericksburg, the flavor is as rich as the area’s history.

Restaurant Week is presented by the City of Fredericksburg and sponsored by the Downtown Fredericksburg Restaurant Association. Reservations are recommended, but not required for this event.

  • Bistro Bethem, seasonal modern cuisine with a southern flair. Restaurant Week offerings include salads, seafood, ribs and steak specialties. Restaurant Week menu selections include spinach Caesar salad, shrimp n’ grits, short ribs and homemade chocolate chip bread pudding. www.bistrobethem.com
  • Blarney Stone Public House, an authentic Irish pub located in the heart of downtown Fredericksburg. Savor a colossal portion of Fish n’ Chips, a Gaelic steak or classic Corned Beef n’ Cabbage. www.theblarney.net
  • Capital Ale House, visit the newest location in Fredericksburg, located in historic downtown. An upscale, casual dinner house offering 62 craft and import beers on tap and more than 300 bottled beers. The menu features regional and European cuisine. www.capitalalehouse.com

  • Claibornes, an elegant restaurant in Fredericksburg’s former train depot serving low-country favorites such as pan-seared pork tenderloin, Chesapeake Bay crab cakes and New Orleans spicy pasta.
